GREAT STORIES,

WELL TOLD

With a background in law and international film finance, Ivey Cinema makes original content for grown-ups about topics and demographics that the tentpoles ignore.

Remember those commercial, globally viable indies that used to get made on the regular? We miss them too.

Born and raised in Germany, Anna Ivey is a US-trained lawyer with prior experience at the Los Angeles law firms Irell & Manella, where clients included Disney, Broadway Video, and Mattel; and Gipson Hoffman & Pancione, where film finance deals included The Boondock Saints with Willem Dafoe, Nurse Betty with Renée Zellweger, Rules of Engagement with Samuel L. Jackson, The Whole Nine Yards with Matthew Perry, and Bring It On with Kirsten Dunst. She also has experience as production counsel for independent films, covering everything from development to pre-production to talent and crew agreements to IP and chain of title to guild agreements to finance and distribution.

Currently in development:

  • An original low-budget horror feature shooting in Southern California

  • An original neo-noir psychological thriller / limited series set in Los Angeles with potential as an anthology

  • An adaptation of a NYT bestselling novel as a limited-series drama set in Appalachia with environmental themes and corporate intrigue
